DescriptionThis unit examines the purpose and importance of recruitment and selection as a key human resource management function. Specific themes covered include the relationship between recruitment and other human resource management functions, especially staff selection, internal and external sources of recruitment, recruitment methods (advertising, agencies, headhunting), outsourcing as an alternative to recruitment, assessing recruitment effectiveness, legal issues in recruitment, and recruitment and workforce diversity.
