The unit then explores the classical strategic management process with the aim of equipping students with skills to be able to understand and complete a strategic plan. It also considers current issues in strategic management, such as the influence of management theorists and gurus; corporate mergers and acquisitions; downsizing; the relationship between strategic planning and firm performance; and the relationship between corporate governance and strategic orientation.
