DescriptionThis unit focuses on project management for logistics and supply chain management. A further significant skill obtained from this unit is the practical knowledge of Microsoft Project as a software tool commonly used by project managers. Front-end planning is critical to project success. Planning consumes only a fraction of project monies yet locks in major decisions with profound ramifications for the whole of project life and the end results to the changes in supply chains. Project success is based on the ability of project managers to lead their teams to finish their project on time, on (or under) budget and to the specified quality. The unit includes topics such as project planning, project scheduling, project budgeting, project evaluation, project team and organisation, project control, resource allocation and risk management.
