Vikas is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Business in the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Sydney. From 2004 to 2009 he was Assistant Professor of International Business and Strategy in the Department of Management at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Collaboratory for Research on Global Projects (CRGP) at Stanford University from 2008 to 2009. He obtained his doctoral degree in International Business in 2004 from the Boeing Institute of International Business, John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University.

Vikas's research interests are in the areas of Internationalization, Emerging Market Firms, Emerging Markets, Business Groups, and Outsourcing/Offshoring. His research has been published in premier international business/management journals such as Management International Review (MIR), Coprorate Governance: An International Review (CGIR), Journal of World Business (JWB), British Journal of Management (BJM), European Journal of Marketing (EJM), and Thunderbird International Business Review (TIBR). He is co-guest editor of the special issue on 'Offshoring and Outsourcing of High Value Company Functions' in the Journal of Management Studies.

Vikas has taught International Business/Strategy courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has also been involved in Executive training and teaching international management modules to Executive MBAs at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Vikas was the lead organizer of the conference on 'Offshoring and Outsourcing of High Value Company Functions' held on April 23-24 at SDA Bocconi, where over 60 scholars from around the world shared their latest research in the areas of Offshoring/Outsourcing. Vikas is memeber of the Academy of International Business, Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and the European International Business Academy. He has been a regular contributor to the above Academies as presenter, discussant, reviewer, chair, and panel organizer. Vikas received the Best Reviewer Award from the International Management Division at the Academy of Management Conference, 2007.

Vikas has lived and worked in India, US and Italy and has an understanding of the cultural and institutional similarities as well as differences across these major countries of the world.
