Dr Ulku Yuksel's research interests include cross-cultural marketing, international marketing and consumer behaviour. Specifically, culture, consumption under stress, anti-consumption and political marketing (e.g., boycott behaviour) are the sub-areas she is interested within this broad concept. Her research explores consumers' evaluations and decisions as consumers involve counting on, trusting, and following others, brands, and products together with consumer information processing in relation to brand, corporate, country image and cultural perceptions. Within this context she focuses on three major areas: (1) How do consumers evaluate others and react to various sorts of information for their decision on action or non-action? (e.g., boycotts); (2) How do consumers react to different stimuli of fear (e.g., in announcement, advertisements) with regard to their consumption tendency? (3) When and how does culture matter in these constructs?
