Tyrone Carlin is Professor of Financial Reporting and Regulation and Chair of the Discipline of Business Law. Prior to joining the University of Sydney, he held a variety of senior academic appointments including Dean of Law at Macquarie University and Director of Academic Programs at Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Tyrone holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Commerce with Honours, both majoring in Accounting, from the University of New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, and is the recipient of the Law Graduates' Association Medal in Law. He holds a PhD from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Tyrone teaches in the areas of financial reporting and management, corporate acquisitions and reconstructions and corporate and commercial law. He has published more than 100 scholarly articles in his areas of expertise.

Tyrone has been engaged as a consultant by a substantial number of leading corporate, professional services and government agencies, and has substantial experience in the development and presentation of corporate and executive education programs. He chairs CPA Australia's International Advisory Committee and is a member of that organisation's Representative Council.
