Professor Richard Dunford is currently Professor of Business Strategy and Chair of Discipline of International Business at the Faculty of Economics and Business, the University of Sydney.

Professor Dunford has previously held a dual role; both a visiting Professor with the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Sydney and Deputy Dean at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University, which he has been since February 2006. Prior to this, Professor Dunford was Interim Dean at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management from October 2003?January 2006. Professor Dunford has been both Professor and Chair of Strategic Management since September 2001. At this same point he was also Director (Associate Dean), Academic Programs (2001-2005) at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University. Prior to this, from January 1998 - August 2001, Professor Dunford was Associate Professor of Management and also held the administrative responsibilities of Discipline Convenor, Strategic Management and International Business, Director, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) 1998-1999, Acting Director of Research, Sept. 2000-Jan 2001 at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University.

Professor Dunford has also been an active member of the Academy of Management (AOM), Asia and Pacific Researchers in Organizational Studies (APROS), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM), and the Australian and New Zealand International Business Association (ANZIBA).

Professor Dunford's research interests are in the areas of management structure, organisational changes and organisational performance and he is widely published including in Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly and the Journal of Management Studies.
