Leanne Cutcher teaches Strategic Management at both the postgraduate and undergraduate level. Leanne is the Work and Organisational Studies’ Research Co-ordinator and is responsible for co-ordination and development of the Discipline’s research and postgraduate research program.

Leanne's own research interests build on her award-winning Phd research (1st Annual Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards 2005) that examined the role of the customer in the Australian retail banking industry. She has published several articles, conference papers and cases exploring the links between structural change, industry strategy and customer identity in credit unions and community banks. Leanne is also a member of a collaborative international research program exploring the impact of globalisation on the banking sector across seven countries: China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Germany, USA and Australia.

Leanne has extended her research work on customer identity to include projects that have examined gender identity in relation to the paid maternity leave debate, and, more recently aesthetic labour and older women workers in the service sector. Leanne was recently the co-convenor of a stream on Emotions and Aesthetics at the Gender Work and Organization conference at Keele University.

Leanne is Co-Director of the Organisation Discourse Strategy and Change group. She is also an active member of the Women♀Work Research Group, and the Business Labour History Group. Leanne is the Faculty Liaison Officer for the Work and Organizational Studies Student Society and member of the Executive of the NSW ndustrial Relations Society.
