Kunal's major research interests are in the area of development economics, game theory and choice theory. His research has been published in leading journals in economics, such as Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, International Economic Review and Economic Journal.
His earlier research (in development economics) looked at various issues relating to land and labor contracts in agrarian economies.
