Isabel's research interests include superannuation, earnings management, accounting for investments in associated entities and accounting for general insurance. Isabel has recently completed her PhD titled: 'Applying the "economic substance over legal form" principle to pension accounting: a comparative analysis of rule development in the USA and Australia and implications for Australian firms' superannuation accounting practices'. Isabel worked as a Chartered Accountant for many years prior to her academic career and has extensive auditing and accounting experience in the superannuation, insurance and rural industries. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Isabel currently teaches intermediate accounting at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. To link her teaching to student learning outcomes, Isabel has completed a Certificate of Higher Education.
