Creina Day's main research interests are economic growth, R&D and endogenous fertility. She received her PhD from the Australian National University. Her thesis, Essays in Population, R&D and Economic Growth, was examined by Paul Romer (Stanford), Ngo Van Long (McGill) and Alan Taylor (UC Davis). The first essay, The Dynamics of Fertility and Growth: Baby Boom, Bust and Bounce-Back, is published in The Berkeley Electronic Journals of Macroeconomics. Presently, Creina is developing theoretical models to explore rising research intensity in the G5 and the role of household appliances in fertility decline.

Before joining University of Sydney, she lectured undergraduate macroeconomics and postgraduate growth theory at the ANU. Creina was twice nominated for the Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
