Chris Styles' research focuses on international marketing and strategy, and in particular issues relating to the internationalisation process, international alliances and international entrepreneurship. He has taught Strategic Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Marketing on undergraduate, post-graduate and executive programs. Chris also teaches at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, Trinity College, Dublin, and on behalf of Duke Corporate Education.
In addition to his academic activities, Chris has carried out consulting and executive teaching assignments in Asia, Australia and Europe, for clients such as Price Waterhouse Coopers, Macquarie Bank, Austrade, Sony Music, Global Sources, IBM and Clayton UTZ. He has also spoken at numerous industry conferences in Australia and overseas. He is a member of the Australian Marketing Institute's (AMI) National Advisory Board, is a Fellow of the Institute and is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM). Chris is also a member of the executive of the Australian New Zealand Marketing Academy (ANZMAC).
Chris has published a number of research papers, case studies and management articles in a range of academic journals, management texts, and government reports. His book, The SILK Road to International Marketing, co-authored by Tim Ambler of London Business School, is used in Masters programs in Australia, Europe and the USA.
Chris was previously at the School of Marketing, University of New South Wales, and before that was a consultant, executive teacher and management researcher based at London Business School. Prior to this Chris worked as a Marketing Manager for Procter & Gamble in Europe and the Middle East; and a market research consultant with with Donovan Research in Perth.
