CPSU Scholarship
The Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies and the Union Strategy Research Group in the Faculty of Economics and Business have established the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) PhD Scholarship. The program of research and study will commence in February 2009. The project requires the writing of a doctoral thesis on the history of the CPSU. The CPSU is one of Australia’s largest white-collar unions which draws membership from the APS and among Territory employees, as well as from telecommunications and community areas. The Scholarship is funded by the CPSU for a maximum of 3.5 years and will be paid at the full rate of Faculty of Economics and Business Scholarships, at $30,000 pa with CPI adjustments.

Information Systems PhD Scholarship in strategic technology-enabled business innovation
The Business Information Systems Discipline within the Faculty of Economics and Business seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates to commence their full-time PhD studies in strategic management of technology-enabled business innovation in the Financial Services sector.
This scholarship is funded by ARC project DP0881876: Developing & Managing Sustainable Technology-Enabled Innovation Capabilities: An Information Systems Approach. Australian industry’s search for competitive advantage in globalised markets is creating increasing pressure to innovate. Companies use existing and emerging technologies to enhance value for customers, suppliers and business partners; to empower global business initiatives; and to redesign their organizations. Disruptive technologies (like intelligent agents and next generation web technologies) offer the potential to redefine value propositions and to achieve fundamental improvements in current business practice.
This project aims to advance understanding of technology-enabled innovation management in the adoption and implementation of disruptive technologies. It will develop a new framework for technology-enabled business innovation and test its application for improving risk management in corporate treasury functions.
Applicants should have a relevant Bachelor’s degree with 1st class Hons or a Masters by Research degree or equivalent; and knowledge and experience in the Finance industry, particularly in risk management.
Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.
The scholarship is valued at $25,118 annually (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) Scholarship
PhD students applying to the Faculty of Economics and Business, particularly if they are studying finance or accounting, may apply for a CMCRC scholarship of up to $50,000 per year.
