Description

This major offers interdisciplinary study to an advanced level in the fields of organisational analysis and strategic organisation management. The focus is on the centrality of the link between organisational analysis and effective strategy formulation across all functions and at all levels of the organisation. The major also exposes students to key conceptual, analytical, and ethical aspects of organisational studies and strategy-making and well as the processes and practices associated with organisation design, development, change, renewal and performance enhancement. In addition, students have the opportunity to explore the relationship between tangible and intangible aspects of organisation resourcing and management, particularly knowledge management and the management of organisational culture. The major is designed specifically for students who are practising or who wish to pursue careers in the fields of strategic analysis and resource planning, organisational innovation and change management, business process transformation, technology and work redesign, and management consulting.

    The Master of Business program, including this major, is only available to continuing students and will except no new enrolments from Semester 2, 2008.

Requirements for the major

To obtain an Organisational Analysis and Strategy major, students must complete four units of study (24 credit points), comprising:
