Description

The Business and Security major provides students with knowledge and skills that will help them understand and respond to contemporary and future security challenges faced by business, industry and commerce. Considering both traditional and emerging security issues, students will learn to identify, plan for, and mitigate a range of threats relevant to business management and operations. Units address issues such as security planning and risk management, business continuity and emergency management, corporate liability, fraud and corruption. Students will have the opportunity to undertake detailed study of the regional security context of Asia and the Pacific as well as key security issues such as terrorism, infectious diseases, and environmental degradation.

Requirements for the major

To obtain a Business and Security major, students must complete four units of study (24 credit points), comprising:

Students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Commerce or the Master of Professional Accounting may choose units from this major subject area as electives in their course.
