Entrepreneurship (Master of Commerce and combined Master of Commerce programs)
This major offers interdisciplinary study to an advanced level in the field of entrepreneurship. The major exposes students to key conceptual and theoretical foundations needed to understand the process of launching a new venture, with particular emphasis on international aspects of new venture creation and management. It allows students to combine this foundation knowledge with a variety of specialised units of study drawn from disciplines from across the Faculty. Units of study in this major focus on key components of the entrepreneurial process relating to marketing, the law, finance, management and international business. The major is relevant to students from a variety of fields with an interest in the entrepreneurial process. It also provides background relevant to working as or for an entrepreneur, and key stakeholders such as policy makers, venture capitalists, and advisors.
International Business (Master of Commerce and combined Master of Commerce programs)
The international business program is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills relevant to the development, strategy and management of international business organisations and the institutional context for their development, growth and operation. The program encompasses the broad domain of international business studies including multinational and transnational business activities, strategies and managerial processes that cross national boundaries, joint ventures and strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and the interactions of international business organisations with their economic, political and cultural environments.
Masters
Master of International Business
The International Business programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills relevant to the development, strategy and management of international business organisations; and the institutional context for their development, growth and operation. The field of international business includes multinational and transnational business activities; strategic and managerial processes that cross national boundaries; joint ventures and strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions; managing international risk; cross-cultural management; and the interactions of international business organisations with their economic, political and cultural environments.
Master of International Business (Honours)
The Master of International Business (Honours) is an extension of the Master of International Business pass degree where students complete a supervised research (dissertation) on a particular area or aspect of International Business.
Master of International Business and Law
In an age of globalisation, issues relating to international business and law are of great importance to managers and business professionals around the world. The Master of International Business and Law is a unique program which draws together the interdisciplinary strengths of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Law. Units of study offered in this course are accessible to students without legal or business backgrounds, making it an ideal entry path for those seeking to broaden their career into fields such as international trade and taxation law.
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise
This course will help develop commercially aware and empowered entrepreneurs. It is designed to equip participants with the skills and experience necessary to build a business in a variety of industries. The Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise will be relevant to people with a variety of interests including the self-employed, researchers, creative artists and social activists.
Graduate Certificate in International Business
The International Business programs are designed for those who recognise the need and value of developing business skills at a graduate level, and want access to teaching and research that emphasises global and international perspectives. Globalisation and trade liberalisation are forces that cannot be ignored and modern business practitioners will need an understanding to take full advantage of them. The International Business award courses are coursework programs and are taught primarily in the evening.
