The Faculty offers a wide variety of support services for students, ranging from helping students go on exchange, to course planning, career advice and mentoring and peer assisted learning.  The list below is a starting point for accessing the services offered by the Faculty.

How We Can Help You

Before you enrol

The Student Information Office (SIO) can give you advice about:

  • The University of Sydney, the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty's courses and degrees
  • Application requirements and procedures
  • Scholarships and scholarship application procedures

When you're enrolling

The SIO can help you with:

  • Choosing courses and units
  • Planning your degree or course
  • Enrolment processes
  • Credit/advanced standing
  • Accessing study support services and programs

The Office of Learning and Teaching in Economics and Business (OLTEB) can help you with:

  • Orientation
  • Workshops and transition sessions
  • Student Mentoring

While you're a student, the SIO can help you with:

  • Planning your degree or course
  • Varying your enrolment
  • Course upgrades
  • Timetable changes
  • Exchange, Study Abroad and Cross-institutional study opportunities
  • Leave of absence (suspension) requests

  • Career management workshops

When you've finished studying

  • Check that you've met the requirements of your course or degree
  • Provide you with a completion letter
  • Let you know the date of your graduation ceremony, or your options for graduating without attending a ceremony
  • Advise about options for further study, including honours, postgraduate coursework and research degrees

So that we can provide you with the best possible service, we ask you to:

  • Check your student email account at least once a week
  • Read the information that is sent to you
  • Take advantage of online self-administration systems when possible
  • Provide complete and accurate information when making an enquiry
  • Familiarise yourself with the Faculty Handbook and website (including the rules relating to your course)
  • Make use of the Administration Manual for Students
  • Take responsibility for your own enrolment, including making final decisions about courses and units
  • Keep your contact details up-to-date on MyUni
  • Treat us with respect
