Learning Support for Students

Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)

PASS logoPASS is a peer facilitated, cooperative student support scheme for all students. PASS operates in those Units of Study (UoS) that students have found very difficult in the past. Research in the UK, USA and Australia has consistently demonstrated that students who regularly attend PASS schemes can expect an increase in their academic achievement.

PASS attendance is voluntary but highly recommended. It is not a remedial program for "struggling" students, but rather, a program for all students who want to improve their academic performance.

Student Mentoring

PMP LogoThe Faculty of Economics and Business Peer Mentoring Program aims to enhance new students' sense of belonging to a learning community.

The program is designed to assist new students to build academic and social networks so that they settle more quickly into life as a student in the Faculty and therefore have a more successful, productive and positive personal and academic experience. This is achieved by small groups of new students meeting and undertaking a range of formal and informal tasks under the support and direction of a mentor.
