2010 University of Sydney Honours Scholarships - Now Open for Application

The CVC Scholarship for International Entrepreneurship Research 2010
A scholarship opportunity is available to students commencing Honours IV in International Business in 2010.
Applications for 'The CVC Scholarship for International Entrepreneurship Research' will be short-listed on the basis of most proficient performance in coursework, examination results and by formal application with a thesis proposal focusing on innovation, commercialization and rapid growth.
Funded by donation from CVC Limited, the scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum ($5,000 paid on commencement of each semester) and is tenable for one year; the recipient's honours year.

The Gilles Kryger Honours Scholarship in Finance 2010
The Faculty of Economics and Business is pleased to present a scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students intending to pursue an honours year within the Discipline of Finance.
The scholarship, established in 2006 from a generous donation from the alumnus, Mr. Gilles Kryger and the Faculty of Economics and Business is titled 'The Gilles Kryger Honours Scholarship in Finance' and is open to both local and international students commencing undergraduate honours in Finance in 2010.
The scholarship is intended to promote academic excellence in undergraduate Finance Honours and is valued at $15,000, tenable for one year; the recipient's honours year. Applicants are short-listed based on academic merit and then given the opportunity to submit a research assignment.
The Faculty of Economics and Business has now opened the first round of the application process. To apply please submit an Expression of Interest form located below.

The Robert R. Sterling Distinguished Honours Scholarship in Accounting
The scholarship established in perpetuity in 2008 from a generous donation from Mr. Robert R. Sterling and the Faculty of Economics and Business is intended to support academic study and investigation in the field of financial accounting.
Valued at a total $10,000, two instalments will be paid in the Recipient's honours year.
Students are assessed for this award on their application to the Discipline of Accounting for Accounting Honours. No separate application for this scholarship is required.

Canon Honours Scholarship
Established in 2002 by a donation from Canon Australia, Canon has a strong commitment to the academic development of Australia's youth and as one of the world's most recognised brands are particularly interested in encouraging outstanding academic endeavour in Marketing.
The scholarship valued at $6000 will be offered to a student undertaking Marketing Honours in 2010.
The recipient is selected annually by the Discipline of Marketing.No application is required.

Phillip Noel Hartley Smith Distinguished Honours Scholarship 2010
A scholarship opportunity is now open for commencing undergraduate Honours students with the Faculty of Economics and Business. The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit with a dissertation topic that focuses on 'business ethics' or 'business history' in 2010.
The scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and is tenable for one year.

International Business Scholarship in Honours 2010
A scholarship opportunity is available in 2010 for local and international students intending to enrol in undergraduate honours in International Business. Applicants for the International Business Scholarship in Honours will be selected by the Discipline of International Business based on most proficient performance in coursework, examination results and by formal application detailing their thesis proposal.
Funded by the Discipline of International Business up to five scholarships are available each year and the scholarships are valued at $6,000 each tenable for one year, the recipient's honours year.

Littrell-Cartwright International Exchange Scholarship
2010 Exchange Scholarships available
The Littrell-Cartwright Scholarship will again be offered from semester 1,2010.
Established in 2006 by a donation from Mr. Charles Littrell and Dr. Kimberley Cartwright. The scholarships have been established to encourage academic excellence by offering substantial financial support to Economics and Business students who are participating through the University of Sydney Exchange program to a recognised Partner University in the program.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate and postgraduate, international and local students under the administration of Economics and Business. One scholarship will be offered in Semester 1 (Autumn Session) 2010. The scholarship is valued at $8,000.
Applicants will be short listed based on academic merit (determined by Weighted Average Mark)in their currently enrolled coursework program. The short listed group will then be asked to submit a personal statement and may be asked to attend an interview for final selection.
To be considered for this award please submit the Expression of Interest form (below) in the first instance to the Student Information Office, Level 2, Merewether Building.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Student Exchange Travel Scholarships 2010
The Faculty of Economics and Business is once again offering assistance to students participating in the University of Sydney Exchange Program in 2010. There will be two groups of Faculty Exchange Scholarships on offer:
Faculty of Economics and Business Student Exchange Travel Scholarships
and the
Faculty of Economics and Business Strategic Exchange Partner Scholarships
Student Exchange Travel Scholarships are offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled with the Faculty of Economics and Business in one of the Faculty's administered coursework programs and intending to study overseas through the University of Sydney Exchange program.
The Faculty of Economics and Business is offering up to 40 scholarships in 2010 valued at either $2,000 or $3000 schemes for the departing groups in Semester 1 and semester 2, 2010.
Eligibility:
Students are eligible when participating in the University of Sydney Exchange program and under the administration of the Faculty of Economics and Business. Students should also be enrolled full-time and meeting degree requirements of their undergraduate or postgraduate award course during their exchange session.
Students are required to meet the usual regulations that apply to the exchange program through the Exchange Unit, International Office.

The INVESTEC Prize for the Most Outstanding All Round Student
Conditions of Award for 2010
This prize was originally established in 2003 by a donation from Investec Bank (Australia) Limited. It is awarded annually to a student in the final year of the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) degrees, or the Commerce component of a combined degree. The prize is valued at $5000.
To be eligible, a student must have completed a major in one of the following areas: Finance, Accounting or Economics. A student enrolled in an Honours year in one of these Disciplines is also eligible.
The prize is to be awarded on the basis of:
- outstanding academic performance. This is defined as achieving at least a Distinction (75%) average.
- outstanding achievement in an area or areas other than academic endeavour. These areas include but are not exclusive to the following: music, art, performance, literature, sport, community service and student leadership.
The Investec Prize recipient is selected from a short-list and interview by the CEO of Investec or delegate, and the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) of the Faculty of Economics and Business or nominee. They will recommend the prize winner to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
