Description This unit forms part of the Work and Organisational Studies honours program. It introduces students to the roles of theory in science, particularly social sciences and examines the development of different models of theory development in the social sciences. The unit also examines a selection of different theoretical approaches to explaining work and organisations. This is done so by identifying several different issues or themes that have emerged in work and organisational studies and discussing the manner in which these themes have been studied and the consequent explanations that have emerged.
