| Description |
The relationship between an organisations business strategy and its information systems is important and challenging. In an environment of rapid, often technology-led change, information systems strategy may be required to both lead and support business strategy. Strategic information systems solutions may need to be highly complex and integrated, yet flexible and adaptable to change. The implications for these dilemmas are explored in terms of the design, implementation and enactment of IT strategies, and governance of value adding IT resources. You will gain a detailed understanding of the concepts, tools and methodologies used in the negotiation and development of IT strategy, and the development of a business focussed, robust and flexible enterprise architecture. Your understanding will be enhanced through active participation in case studies, which are an essential element of the unit. |
