Description This unit introduces students to the context and processes of management accounting work, considering the role of management accounting technologies in financial resource management. It is argued that management accountants support and inform the ways in which organizational resources are committed to various portfolios, projects, and possible futures, given the crafting of an organisation\\\'s relationship with its environment. In this unit of study, students will be introduced to the external and internal environments of management accounting work. The main categories of resources available to shape an organisation\\\'s strategy and financial performance will be outlined (including those acquired through strategic alliances and outsourcing), along with various management accounting technologies accounting for the combination, allocation and performance of these resources.
