| Description | BCom/BAThe combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts program provides the opportunity for students to combine professional commerce-related studies with further studies in the humanities. | Course Rules | To be awarded the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts, students must successfully complete a total of 240 credit points (with no more than 96 credit points in junior units of study), comprising: From the Faculty of Economics and Business (Bachelor of Commerce component):

| Majors, Extended Majors and Electives | Commerce majors, extended majors and electivesStudents select their Commerce major from a limited list of options (see Bachelor of Commerce subject areas). Students must complete at least one major (or extended major - see below) in a Commerce subject area to fulfil the requirements of their course. In most cases, a major consists of a minimum of 36 senior credit points (usually six senior units) and an extended major consists of a minimum of 48 senior credit points (usually eight senior units) in a single subject area. For exact details of the requirements for majors and which units of study are necessary to be completed for each of these majors, please refer to the Undergraduate subject areas for majors and electives. The following list indicates the majors available in the Bachelor of Commerce. Students should check the Undergraduate subject areas for majors and electives and the Undergraduate units of study for information on the units of study available in each major. Please Note. The major or extended major students choose will determine whether they can complete an additional major in the degree. Arts majors and electivesStudents select their Arts major from the Bachelor of Arts subject areas (see below). Students must complete at least one major in Arts to fulfil the requirements of their degree. In total, a major consists of a minimum of 36 senior credit points (six senior units). For more details in regards to the requirements of the particular Arts majors students should refer to the Faculty of Arts website. Other major and elective options available in this combined degreeStudents may select additional majors and/or electives offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Arts, or from the Faculties of Science, Education and Social Work, Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources or other faculties in the University of Sydney (subject to approval by the Faculty of Economics and Business). | Enrolment Guide | Junior units of studyStudents need to complete six commerce junior core units of study, the junior requirements for their Arts major and any other elective junior units of study they may wish to study. The sequence in which students enrol in these units is dependent upon which subject areas they wish to study as majors. (As some core units may be required for certain majors, whilst other majors may require the completion of additional junior units of study). For exact details of the requirements for Economics and Business majors and of what units of study are necessary to be completed for each of these majors listed in the table, please refer to the Undergraduate subject areas for majors and electives Senior units of studyStudents must complete the senior core unit of study ECOF3001 Business Strategy and select senior units of study for their required Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts majors. For requirements for individual Economics and Business majors students should refer the section Undergraduate subject areas for majors and electives. For the requirements of the Arts majors, students should refer to the Faculty of Arts website or handbook. It is not necessary for students to follow this structure exactly as it is displayed. for example, the compulsory unit Business Strategy can be studied in either semester 1 or semester 2 any time from you third year of your degree.. | Honours Year | Both the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts can be awarded with honours. Joint honours courses are available. For the Bachelor of Commerce students must successfully complete an additional honours year of study. For the award of honours in the Bachelor of Arts, students must complete successfully an additional honours year of study in any of the subject areas where honours units of study are listed.
