A specialised qualification for those engaged in or contemplating careers in industrial relations, human resource management and related areas. The Graduate Certificate is also an entry point for mature-age students who, although working in the field, do not have a tertiary qualification.

Course requirements

(for continuing students only)

To be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, students must successfully complete a total of four units of study (24 credit points), comprising:

  • two core units of study (12 credit points) as listed under Core units of study
  • two elective units of study (12 credit points) chosen from the options under Elective units of study

Please note:

  1. While it is not necessary to complete the two core units of study prior to taking elective units of study, students without prior study in the area are strongly urged to take both units of study in their first semester of study.
  2. The units of study marked with "*" will NOT be offered for 2009 enrolments. Students should contact the Coordinator of this program for details of possible replacement units for the core units which are not available.
