The Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management award courses are specialised qualifications for those engaged in or contemplating careers in industrial relations, human resource management and related areas.

Please Note

This course will not be available to commencing students from 2008. It will be replaced by the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.

Course requirements

To be awarded the Graduate Diploma, students must complete a total of six units of study (36 credit points), comprising:

  • two core units of study (12 credit points) as listed under Core units of study
  • four elective units of study (24 credit points) chosen from the options listed under Elective units of study

Please note:

  1. While it is not necessary to complete the two core units of study prior to taking elective units of study, students without prior study in the area are strongly urged to take both units of study in their first semester of study.
  2. The units of study marked with "*" will NOT be offered for 2009 enrolments. Students should contact the Coordinator of this program for details of possible replacement units for the core units which are not available.
Entry requirements

This course is not available for commencing students from 2008. New students enrol in the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.

Duration of course

Full-time: A typical full-time student will undertake three units of study per semester, completing the six units in two semesters (one year).

Part-time: Students undertake one or two units per semester, typically completing the program in 1.5 to three years.
