Description | MBISThe Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) is designed to meet the needs of students with a pre-existing knowledge of business who want to better understand the contribution business information systems (BIS) can make to their role as a manager within an organisation. The degree is designed to provide students with the flexibility to develop their expertise both within and across a number of streams to meet their specific career needs and aspirations. The aim of the Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) is to combine theory and practice to equip graduates with the skill set necessary to effectively manage and derive strategic value from information and information related technologies in both public and private sector contexts. The course covers the complete information systems lifecycle from consideration of the contribution of BIS to business strategy, through the design and implementation of appropriate solutions to the delivery of the associated benefits. The MBIS incorporates an integrative project that requires students to draw together and apply material from the units of study they have studied. The MBIS has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) until 2008. Having completed a minimum of six 6000-level INFS units of study as part of the MBIS requirements students will satisfy the educational requirements for professional level accreditation with the Australian Computer Society. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
