Labour History

Editor: Greg Patmore

A Journal of Labour and Social History

The interdisciplinary nature of labour history, and its acceptance of less traditional sources, including folklore and oral testimony, makes it a fascinating field, alive to past and present social justice issues.

The journal, which has been appearing twice yearly since 1962, is the premier outlet for refereed, scholarly articles in its field in Australasia.

Because the ASSLH aims to raise historical awareness in the community, Labour History also publishes essays, reviews, and memoirs that reflect the involvement of labour historians in the making of history.

Labour History has joined the History Co-operative, based at the University of Illinois, which will provide an online edition of the full text of each issue. Beginning with issue 83, subscribers will receive their print edition and will have the benefits of a digital edition as well.

On this site, we have digitised the Contents pages since issue 68 (May 1995), and the Abstracts since issue 74 (May 1998). We plan to scan earlier Contents pages back to issue 37 as time and resources permit. The published Index for issues 1 to 36 will soon be available on this site.
