Mentoring Opportunities

Lucy Mentoring Program

The Lucy Program is an innovative leadership program aimed at women in university studying business and economics. The Program aims to inspire, motivate and educate women about the opportunities available for employment and leadership in the corporate and public sectors. This will be achieved by establishing relationships between individual students and mentors, who are all professionals in the corporate or public sectors.

Young Achievement Australia - Business Skills Program

Established in Australia in 1977, Young Achievement Australia is a dynamic, innovative, non-government, not for profit charitable institution that is committed to developing the boundless potential of young Australians.

This year, for the first time, the Faculty of Economics and Business has sponsored a group of students to participate in the Young Achievers Australia programme. Members of faculty staff have acted as mentors along with a number of the executive of the AYBC. It is hoped that another group of students can take part in the YAA programme next year and we would be interested in hearing from any employers interested in providing mentoring to the students.

Alumni as Mentors

Are you a former student of the faculty interested in contributing your expertise to our current students? Does mentoring or coming on to campus for a talk interest you? The Faculty is keen to develop an active Alumnus both in Australia and overseas, and to develop ties with its Careers and Employer Relations Office. Please contact Sarah Fletcher s.fletcher@econ.usyd.edu.au or (02) 90366196. Or Kim Pryor the Alumni Relations Manager at k.pryor@econ.usyd.edu.au.
