CEO Employer Events & Activities

The following on campus activities have been implemented since the inception of the CEO in 2006:

  • On-campus launch themed to vacation work activity
  • Employer of Choice forums - focusing on best workplace practices across industries
  • A variety of graduate job search skills seminars led by business leaders and graduate recruiters
  • High level partnering of senior business leaders with senior academic staff - business & academia informing each other
  • International opportunities - seminars and presentations for students wishing to develop a global career
  • Open house graduate recruitment season activities including careers tent, careers skills workshops, town & gown lunches
  • Sustainability Careers Fair - showcasing best practice in CSR and employers of choice
  • Establishment of an Employer Advisory and Student Advisory Board
  • Advertising and promotion of graduate jobs and vacation or work experience opportunities

The CEO is keen to build on existing relationships and develop new ones. As well as continuing with the above, the CEO team have generated the following ideas for further employer engagement and activity:

  • Featured employers at our careers tent and opportunity for employer led presentations and workshops
  • Partnering with key students and academic staff through town & gown lunches
  • Facilitating connections with clubs & societies
  • International week - offerings and opportunities for international students
  • Events to promote careers across industries through professional associations and small to medium sized employers
  • Featured employers on Blackboard, the faculty based virtual Learning Environment that supports online learning and teaching (the faculty based online learning and teaching tool)
  • Events and activities targeted at young women including the Lucy Mentoring programme
  • The development of a Unit of Study focusing on Career Management Skills and may include areas such as Leadership, Communication, Professional Etiquette, Employability & Global Citizenship
