The Discipline is also home to three very well known and highly rated international accounting journals: Abacus; Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal; and the Australian Accounting Review. (Abacus is one of the oldest accounting journals in the world, having been established in 1965). All three journals make a distinctive contribution to accounting theory and practice in the international arena.
Staff in the Discipline continue to be very successful in securing large research grants from the highly prestigious competitive funding source, the Australian Research Council. The Accounting discipline at Sydney is the only grouping within the discipline in Australia to be consistently awarded Large ARC Grants in each of the past five years. In addition, many staff have authored scholarly books which have been published by major international publishing houses, as well as several leading textbooks in accounting.
