The Board of Advice seeks to ensure that our programs are relevant to the needs of our students and business community, and responsive to emerging opportunities and the most contemporary practice in business and the professions.
The Faculty also ensures its programs are professionally relevant and accredited through discipline-based advisory bodies which work closely with organisations such as CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Australian Computer Society, and the Australian Marketing Institute.
Corporate and government links play an important role in teaching and learning. Case studies, internships, on-the-job projects, workshops and other learning activities see direct involvement with business, industry and government. Input from practitioners is also encouraged through the appointment of adjunct professors, tutors and guest speakers drawn from the business world.
Much of our research involves collaboration with business and industry, and extensive consultancy projects are funded by and involve collaboration with business and government organisations.
The Faculty greatly appreciates the support of many organisations through corporate-sponsored scholarships and prizes. These include the CVC Scholarship for International Entrepreneurship Research, PricewaterhouseCoopers Nathan Moss Scholarship in Business and the Citigroup Simon Taylor Scholarship. The Faculty would also like to recognize donors for their support for awards such as the Joye Prizes, Phillip Noel Hartley Smith Distinguished Honours Scholarship, and the Wayne Lonergan Outstanding Teaching Award.
In addition, many of the events run throughout the year by the Faculty are only made possible thanks to the generous support of organisations such the Australian Stock Exchange, CPA, KPMG, Corporate Express, Fairfax, Coca Cola Amatil, and a range of other organisations from the business, public and educational sectors.
