Copyright
How do you get copyright clearance to post my teaching resources on Blackboard?
Most published material, whether it is a journal article, a section of a book, a cartoon or diagram is protected by Australian copyright law. At the University of Sydney, the library handles all copyright compliance procedures.
If you wish to post published material on your Blackboard site for students to use, you must first get copyright clearance. The procedure is as follows:
- Email the citation or the item to your discipline's library copyright officer. See the library website for this person's details.
- The library will add the document to its server with the appropriate copyright notice attached.
- The library will email you a link to the document which you can then paste into your Blackboard site.
See the library's CORS webpage or Copyright Cheatsheet (59Kb) for further details.
