Blackboard Application to Activate
What is the Application to Activate?
The Academic Board requires any Unit of Study website to be reviewed each time it is offered (see 8.2). An Application to Activate is intended to ensure that:
- Students have the best online learning experience from your site
- Your administrative workload in maintaining the site is minimized
- Minimal policy requirements for the online site are fulfilled
What is being reviewed?
The following aspects have been highlighted for review:
- the Unit of Study Outline is uploaded and available to students,
- all copyright material included on the site has been correctly treated (see the Copyright Cheatsheet (59Kb)),
- the Unit of Study outline contains appropriate notice of any use of tools that require notification to students (ie. SafeAssign),
- all announcements and documents have been updated for the current semester,
- all documents open in a new window,
- all links work, and external links open in a new window,
- all discussion boards (including those in groups) have at least one forum set up,
- text is readable (ie. the font and colours are acceptable for reading online),
- all content areas either contain content or are made unavailable,
- all template material is switched off.
You can use the Application to Activate Checklist (35Kb) as a prompt to ensure that your site is fully prepared for review.
