Dean's Citation for Tutoring

Applications for Semester 1, 2009 are due 14 August, 2009.

A Dean's Citation for Tutoring will be awarded to Tutors on the basis of feedback from the Teaching in Tutorials survey which provides evaluative data on the overall quality of the teaching in a tutorial class as perceived by students. Tutors must score a minimum of 90% agreement in the following three questions from the Teaching in Tutorials Questionnaire:

  • Question 11. My tutor respected each student and responded to individual needs
  • Question 13. My tutor maintained a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
  • Question 14. Overall my tutor effectively supported my learning

Tutors are eligible for this citation for each tutorial which satisfies the criteria. Tutors must submit their results to John McGill, Tutor Development Manager, for authentication. Results can be submitted by hard copy or by emailing the PDF reports of the results. Tutors with fewer than 12 students responding to the survey are ineligible to apply. Tutors who satisfy the criteria will receive a letter of citation from the Dean of the Faculty.
